“Kevin was selected to photograph a major sculpture by internationally acclaimed artist Michele Oka Doner. The sculpture functions as the floor of the main level of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. The photo shoot required the highest degree of technical expertise and creativity to interpret the artist's vision, shooting a series of overlapping images straight down from a low ceiling height, adjusting for overhead lighting, natural light falloff and high contrast between the dark terrazzo and reflective bronze figures embedded in the floor. Post production required stitching together up to 13 images into each panoramic view—several were produced for this project. The results were stunning, and Kevin's technical expertise and willingness to experiment with unproven methods convinced me he was the right person for this unique project. Although he has built a fine reputation as an architectural photographer, I expect he is likely to gain even more accolades as the "go-to guy" for covering grand scale art and sculpture.”
